Privacy
BagStrict is designed so travelers can share a baggage-check experience without creating a profile or revealing who they are.
What the community beta stores
- No name, email address, phone number or account.
- No advertising cookies or advertising trackers.
- Submitted reports are stored in BagStrict's Cloudflare database and enter a moderation queue.
- Approved reports become visible to other travelers. Rejected reports remain hidden.
- Reports use random identifiers that are not connected to a person.
Information in a report
A report can contain an airport, airline, bag type, check outcome, fee, flight number, destination and a short optional note. Do not put names, contact details, booking references or seat numbers in the note.
Technical security data
Cloudflare processes an IP address transiently to deliver the site and limit automated submissions. BagStrict does not store IP addresses in its report database. Cloudflare may keep short-lived technical logs for security and reliability, separate from traveler reports.
Flagging a published report
You may flag a report as inaccurate, spam or containing personal details. We store the report identifier, selected reason and review timestamps. We do not ask for your name or email and do not store your IP in this flag record.
Website analytics
The live site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page views and website performance. According to Cloudflare’s documentation, this service does not use cookies or fingerprint visitors. These website metrics are separate from traveler reports.
With your permission, BagStrict also uses Google Analytics (measurement ID G-NRGJGM4FTL) to measure website visits. The Google tag is blocked until you choose “Allow analytics”. Google may receive page visits, browser/device and network information and use analytics cookies. Advertising storage and advertising personalization are disabled. Report comments, flight details, payment amounts and report identifiers are not sent as analytics events; page URLs and referrers exclude query strings. We also measure generic report-form events: opening, step reached, closing before completion and successful submission. Only step labels, entry-button categories and exit categories are included, not your answers. These measurements are separate from traveler reports.
You can reject analytics or withdraw permission at any time using “Analytics settings” at the bottom of a page. Your choice is remembered in local storage for up to 180 days. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from using BagStrict or submitting a report. See Google’s Privacy Policy for its processing of information.
Contact and report removal
Reports are not connected to an account or identity. Keep the random report identifier shown after submission if you may need to request removal later. Email hello@bagstrict.com with that identifier to request removal or ask a privacy question. Emails you send contain your email address and any details you choose to include; do not send booking references or identity documents.
